The best known of Hawthorne’s works, The Scarlet Letter presents a sad tale of love and betrayal set within the context of seventeenth-century Puritan New England. The Puritans were a group of religious reformers who arrived in Massachusetts in the 1630s under the leadership of John Winthrop (whose death is recounted in the novel). Last week I finished to read the book, when I started to read I don't belive that the story could finish like that. I though that the book has a happy ending but I was surprised with the end of the story.

The end of the book I did not expect this as just how.
When I was going through the book I thought that we would end up as the histories of films but not, I hoped for a happy ending, which would be three to another city, but in the end just very different.
The truth is that the end of the book I liked a lot.
